A hikyaku was a person who delivered letters and packages in old Japan. They were similar to modern delivery workers. Hikyaku usually traveled by running to carry out their work. They are often depicted in ukiyo-e prints.｜What is a Ri (里)?Ri is a traditional Japanese unit of distance that was commonly used in old Japan. One ri is about 4 KM.

Registration Details
- Registration may close early if the event reaches capacity before the deadline.
- Please provide a valid email address upon application to receive the race participation guide from the race office.
※The race guide emails are scheduled to be sent out in mid-September.
- Credit card and PayPal payments are not available for participants in Turkey and Russia.
Event Attire & Merchandise
- Traditional Japanese-themed costumes are encouraged to celebrate Japanese culture.
※Costumes based on foreign characters are not permitted.

Event Philosophy
- This event emphasizes the joy of running and human connection over competitive speed.
- We welcome participants who embody the spirit of compassion and consideration, values upheld by traditional hikyaku (couriers).
Baggage Storage Notice
- No bags will be provided for storage.
- Participants must bring their own rain protection and ensure belongings are adequately covered.
- As the storage area is outdoors, waterproof bags (e.g., garbage bags) are recommended to protect items from the weather.
Additional Information
- Timekeeping will not be conducted.
- Participants will receive an original tenugui (Japanese hand towel) as a participation prize.
- Upon completion, participants will be given a specially designed finisher's certificate from the shrine, with their name hand-written in calligraphy.
