- Inspired by France's famous Médoc Marathon,Yamagata Sake Brewery Marathon 2026 is a unique (approximately) half marathon set in the cities of Tendo and Yamagata. Run through the beautiful countryside of Yamagata while stopping at sake breweries along the course to enjoy refreshing brewing water and traditional sweet amazake. After crossing the finish line, celebrate your achievement with some of Yamagata's finest sake. Combining running, local culture, and world-renowned sake, this one-of-a-kind event offers an unforgettable way to experience the landscapes and hospitality of Yamagata. Please note: alcoholic beverages are not served during the race. Sake is available only after participants have finished the race.

- Information on how race bibs will be distributed will be provided by the organizer at a later date.
- The main checkpoints along the course are Dewazakura Sake Brewery, Mitobe Sake Brewery, and Shuho Sake Brewery.
- Although this event also promotes Yamagata's sake culture, no alcoholic beverages will be served during the race. Sake will be served only after participants have completed the race.
