Notably, the approximately 5 km straight path through the wetland road allows runners to immerse themselves in the expansive landscape.

The race is based at the Kushiro City Athletics Stadium, with convenient access provided by free shuttle buses.
Historic Event with a Unique Course
The Kushiro Marshland Marathon has a history of over 50 years. The mostly flat course is easy to run, and the 30 km event is ideal for training for a full marathon. The course includes historical sites such as “Mosiriyachashi”, which originates from the Ainu culture.

Local Cuisine and Hospitality
Kushiro is famous for its fresh seafood and local delicacies such as salted tare zangi (fried chicken), imo mochi (potato dumplings), and Muryouju soba(cold soba noodles with sesame oil flavor). The region's food culture is a major attraction. Additionally, the warm support from local volunteers, including students, is highly praised, contributing to the event's popularity among repeat participants.
