A Proud Course with a Beautiful Castle Town and Lake Views
The start and finish venue is near JR Matsue Station in the city center. The race begins with a view of the majestic National Treasure, Matsue Castle. Runners can enjoy the charm of the castle town before passing through a tunnel to be greeted by stunning natural scenery, including the expansive Nakaumi and Lake Shinji, Daikon Island, the impressive Eshima Ohashi Bridge, and the grand Daisen Mountain.
The course is generally flat and easy to run, with gentle hills around the 10km mark in the first half and after the final 10km, adding just the right amount of challenge.

Vibrant Local Support and Aid Stations
The warm cheers and performances along the course are a highlight of this race. Aid stations offer the famous "shijimi clam soup," made with Lake Shinji’s specialty clams, featuring the rich flavor of clam broth and miso. This delicious soup, served at a perfect moment in the race’s latter half, warms and revitalizes tired bodies—a truly exceptional experience!
Reliable Hospitality
After the pandemic, this race welcomed back international participants starting last year! As a tourist-friendly city, Matsue is well-prepared to welcome foreign visitors, with plenty of volunteers ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The event has been selected for the "Top 100 Running Races in Japan" in 2023 and 2024, earning praise for its high-quality organization and hospitality.
