Stunning Coastlines and Breathtaking Views of Mount Fuji
Set in the warm city of Tateyama at the southern tip of the Boso Peninsula, this course lets you feel the sea breeze as you run. Along the flat Boso Flower Line, selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Roads," vibrant yellow rapeseed flowers bloom even in January! The deep blue ocean stretches out below, and on clear days, Mount Fuji can be seen in its majestic glory across Tokyo Bay from Hojo Beach. Lush hills and valleys extend as far as the eye can see, offering an unforgettable running experience blessed with the scent of early spring flowers. The ever-changing scenery keeps your spirits high throughout the race.

A Course Full of Variety That Never Gets Boring
After enjoying moderate ups and downs, there are some flat stretches. Once you've conquered the ups and downs, including some steep hills, you race down back towards the coastline. The variety isn’t just in the scenery; this course offers an engaging and rewarding run that keeps you captivated.

Interaction with International Participants
Every year, three runners each visit from Tateyama's sister cities (Bellingham, USA, and Port Stephens, Australia). In the 2025 race, 79 participants came from overseas. The warm cheers from spectators and the hospitality of volunteers make it popular as a venue for international exchange. Tateyama also has a friendship relationship with Kaohsiung, Taiwan, making this an event where diverse cultures meet. Aid stations offer Tateyama sweets, bananas, and chocolate, and the specially made cream buns at the finish line are highly popular.

Easy Access from Tokyo!
Just about 2 hours by express bus from Tokyo, with free shuttle buses from the west exit of JR Uchibo Line Tateyama Station. Enjoy post-race sightseeing like strawberry picking or fresh seafood. The English-friendly official website and inquiry support welcome international participants.
Family-Friendly Courses and Facilities
There are three events: the full marathon (42.195 km, 6-hour limit), 10 km, and the fun run (2 km), so beginners and families can enjoy the race. Finishers receive medals, and award ceremonies are held. The venue is Tateyama Municipal Sports Ground, with parking and changing rooms available. The warm climate (average temperature around 7°C in January) makes for a comfortable experience.
